Why Measure Both Superheat and Subcooling when Checking the Charge of an AC Unit with a TXV?

In This HVACR Training Video, I show how to check the charge. I discuss why technicians should check Total Superheat along with Subcooling when checking the refrigerant charge level of an air conditioner. Subcooling is the charging method of a single-speed system with a TXV. We check Total Superheat to make sure that no problems exist.
