Recovering Refrigerant with the Compressor While the Unit is Running, Adjusting the Charge!

In This HVACR Training Video, I show How to Recover Refrigerant from an Overcharged Air Conditioner Outdoor Unit while the unit is Running by Using the Compressor. This method should not be used to Recover Large Amounts of Refrigerant from a System due to the Accidental Removal of Compressor Oil. In the case of Recovering a Total Charge, use a Recovery Machine while the System is Off to Reduce Oil Loss from the System. I show how to Read the Gauges to Measure the High Subcooling and I show how to Recover the Refrigerant Level to the Correct Amount.
